The downtown streetscape and redevelopment of the west side of the square.  This is happening because CTPP had a campaign to “SAVE THE SQUARE” to prevent the demolition of the vacant buildings.  From this start others became involved to plan the future of downtown with economic development, social events, traffic safety, and location of our county and judicial centers.</div> <div>    You and CTPP have been a leader in starting good things for the future.  The list of initiatives include sponsoring political debates, land use seminars, education about fire protection, conservation planning, local farmers market, Slow Exposures exhibit, preservation of our historic buildings.   However, the most important accomplishment may be the improvement of citizens participation in out county government, by being there in meetings and by volunteering for boards needed by the county.
